Broadband Capital is a private limited company that was created by Hull City Council in June 2005 as a special purpose vehicle for digital projects. We look at how new technology can be used to transform public services and create digitally and socially inclusive communities.

The link between exclusion and transformation is simple: excluded groups are the hardest to reach and the most expensive to service. Creating tailored and responsive digital services for these groups improves the quality of life for the individual, while reducing the cost of meeting their needs.
For digital public services to be compelling, they have to be personalised. The commercial world has successfully used internet technologies to customise information, communication and services to the needs of customers. We believe that the same is possible within the public sector where personalisation will expose public services to the raw demand of communities, driving efficiency and responsiveness.
Our strategy is to focus on the needs of the most expensive groups and to build compelling services that benefit individuals, reduce costs for service providers and realise policy outcomes for Government.
Broadband Capital Ltd remains a Council-controlled company, but we increasingly undertake work for a wide range of public sector clients locally and nationwide.
